Following the unprecedented success of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, pharma companies are working towards further developing the technology to capitalize on the tremendous growth opportunities. Recently, Daiichi Sankyo initiated Phase III trials of its COVID-19 vaccine, DS-5670, in healthy unvaccinated adults. Although it is a promising homegrown mRNA vaccine option, to be successful in the domestic market, it will need to exceed the safety and efficacy benchmarks set by the global mRNA vaccines, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company. DS-5670 showed positive interim results in a booster vaccination trial (Phase I/II/III, n=5028). Data suggest that the efficacy of DS-5670 is comparable to or higher than approved mRNA vaccines (Pfizer’s Comirnaty and Moderna’s Spikevax). Daiichi Sankyo is expected to apply for approval of DS-5670 as a booster dose with the Japanese regulatory body the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) within 2022. Moreover, the booster vaccination trial is still ongoing and further data will provide more information around safety and efficacy. According to GlobalData’s Pharma Intelligence Center, three mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are in Phase III development by Asian companies. In 2021, leading mRNA vaccines, Comirnaty and Spikevax, generated Japan homegrown COVID-19 mRNA vaccine needs superior safety and efficacy data for success, says GlobalData combined sales of more than $54 billion globally and are expected to generate similar or greater sales in 2022. Prashant Khadayate, Pharma Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “There is no doubt that mRNA vaccines have dominated the overall COVID-19 vaccination scheme globally, particularly those from Pfizer and Moderna, as they are convenient to modify against different strains of COVID-19. While Daiichi Sankyo is somewhat late in developing an mRNA vaccine, considering the overall potential of COVID-19 vaccines and the existing competition, it has the potential to generate a lot of value, particularly if found to be more efficacious.” Japan has seen a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in the recent past. At the end of 2021, Japan reported 1.7 million confirmed COVID-19 cases. The number has surpassed 20 million as of 27 September 2022. Khadayate concludes: “Considering the drastic increase in COVID-19 cases in Japan over the last nine months, a homegrown mRNA vaccine could not only be highly advantageous in reducing the reliance on mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna but will also be more costeffective. However, it is important to note that a homegrown mRNA vaccine like DS-5670 exceeds the safety and efficacy benchmarks set by leading players, as they have already generated a lot of real-word data on use, which will be hard to compete with.”

• Hong Kong ranks sixth in total trade value in 2021, with a total of US$1.4 trillion • The city grabs the fifth and sixth spots globally in terms of trade value growth and volume growth, amounting to US$376 billion and US$227.3 billion respectively, from 2016 to 2021 The DHL Trade Growth Atlas published by DHL and NYU Stern School of Business has ranked Hong Kong in the top spots globally, indicating its strength in trade value and volume growth across 173 markets around the world. Dubbed “Asia’s World City”, Hong Kong ranks sixth in total trade value as recorded in 2021, raking in US$1.4 trillion within the year. Furthermore, Hong Kong has grabbed the fifth spot globally in trade value growth – totaling US$376 billion – and sixth in the world in trade volume growth – amounting to US$227.3 billion – from 2016 to 2021. The report also indicates two dimensions of future trade growth: speed, which captures how fast a market’s trade volume is expanding; and scale, which tracks the absolute change in the amount of goods traded by a market. Hong Kong is among the top 10 markets in terms of the scale of trade volume, together with other key Asian markets, such as Singapore and South Korea. “True to its reputation as an international financial, commerce and trade hub, Hong Kong has performed well in total trade value and volume growth,” said Chee Choong Ng, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DHL Express Hong Kong and Macau. “By leveraging Hong Kong’s global connectedness and its status as a regional logistics hub and with the Three Runway System at the airport and the expanded DHL Express Central Asia Hub coming on line, we are well positioned to support our customers’ global and regional trade growth.” According to the report, Hong Kong’s top export destination from 2016 to 2021 is mainland China (56 percent), followed by the United States (7.5 percent) and India (3 percent). Meanwhile, more than half of the city’s import within the same period is from mainland China (45 percent). Key Take-Aways: Growth, Shifts, and Opportunities • The DHL Trade Growth Atlas also measures changes in countries’ and regions’ shares of world trade. Among the key take-aways: • The Covid-19 pandemic has not been the major setback for global trade that many anticipated: International trade in goods has surged as high as 10% above prepandemic levels, even in the face of significant supply bottlenecks that constrained further growth. • Prospects for future trade growth remain surprisingly positive: Due to the war in Ukraine, trade growth forecasts have been downgraded, but they still call for trade to grow slightly faster in 2022 and 2023 than it did over the preceding decade. • E-commerce sales boomed during the pandemic and forecasts point to strong cross-border e-commerce growth continuing. • New poles of trade growth are identified in Southeast and South Asia, and trade growth is expected to accelerate dramatically in Sub-Saharan Africa. • Trade growth is spread across a wider variety of markets: China accounted for a quarter of trade growth in recent years and is predicted to continue to have the largest growth, but its share is likely to fall by half, to 13 percent. • Vietnam, India, and the Philippines stand out on both speed and scale of projected trade growth through 2026. All three have potential to benefit from efforts by many companies to diversify Chinacentric production and sourcing strategies. • While emerging economies increased their shares of world trade from 24 to 40 percent between 2000 and 2012, with half of the increase driven by China alone, these shares have barely changed over the past decade. • However, emerging economies continue to race forward on measures of connectivity, innovation, and leading companies. They are becoming more important exporters of sophisticated manufactured products, and increasingly compete not only on low costs, but also on innovation and quality. Understanding Global Trade and its Opportunities The DHL Trade Growth Atlas examines global trade growth trends, geographic shifts, the mix of products traded, and broader changes in the business environment. It analyzes trade in goods worldwide, by region, for advanced vs. emerging economies, and across 173 markets. The report features concise one-page summaries for each of these markets. The markets covered comprise more than 99% of world trade, GDP, and population. The DHL Trade Growth Atlas complements the established DHL Global Connectedness Index series. May22239 From higher rankings to increasing your online reputation and brand visibility, Google reviews can boost your business for completely free. However, the term ‘get more Google reviews’ receives approximately 14,000 annual global searches, suggesting business owners and marketeers are struggling to find the secret to success. To help you out, Justin Berg, founder of SAAS SEO agency, Rock The Rankings, has revealed his six top tips to take your business to a whole new level. Here’s what the SEO expert has to say… Ask for Reviews – They Won’t Always Come to You Sometimes customers will naturally come to your Google My Business profile and drop you a review – especially if they had a negative experience. But you’re missing out on a ton of opportunity if you’re not asking your customers for a review of your product or service. If you’re just getting started, you can easily copy the review link to your Google My Business profile and send it out to users manually via email. There are a ton of manual ways to actually get the review link, but if you’re running on Chrome simply download the GatherUp Google Review Link Generator and all the heavy lifting will be done for you. Navigate to your Google My Business profile, click the GatherUp plugin from your top Chrome menu, and drop this link into a URL shortener. Pair the links with craft hand-written emails to your customers that had a great experience and ask for their feedback. If you’re looking for an automated solution, there’s also a ton of third-party review platforms that will help you to handle this entire process. Thirdparty review platforms will allow you not only to collect reviews for Google My Business, but also on other platforms as well such as Yelp and Facebook. Reviews On My Website’s Google Review Widget does a great job of this. Don’t Just Ask – Follow-up We’re all busy in our day-to-day lives, and not everyone’s going to reply to your initial request. You don’t want to be annoying with the requests, but it normally can take a few tries to get a response. If you’re planning to collect reviews via email outreach and have a handful of customers, you can probably manage this process manually, however it can be a bit tedious for higher volumes, so the easiest way to automate an email sequence is by using a thirdparty review collection software that will automate the entire campaign process. One big benefit to using third-party review collection software is that you can easily automate the process via SMS. Sending review requests via text message generally yields better results as normally people are getting bombarded with emails, and believe it or not, asking for reviews via text is still not a (super) common practice. Collect Reviews via Your Website If you’re selling a product or service online, collecting reviews through your website itself can be very effective. If you want to learn how customer’s buying experience was, their interaction with your website, and the support they’ve received prior to receiving their product or service, you can serve them a review right after the transaction or sign-up has occurred. You’ll definitely see a lower survey completion rate when using this method, as some customers will wait until they’ve tried the product or service, but it can be effective for collecting some quality reviews quickly – especially if there’s a lag time between receiving your product. On the other hand, if you want to collect a review after the customer has already had the chance to use your product or service, you’ll want to serve them the review request at the right time during the feedback loop. You can also take the Google My Business review link and embed it behind a widget and display it on site. Using the Rich Plugins Google Reviews Widget for WordPress users, you can easily embed a widget on-site. Not only does this build trust and rapport for your brand but allows users to easily click on your Google rating (or Facebook and Yelp) to easily leave a review. Utilize QR Codes for Review Collection Using the power of QR codes on print advertising is a very effective way to bolster your Google reviews. If you send printed receipts with your products, you can include the code on the receipt and incentivize the review with a coupon code or discount on a next purchase. Restaurants can print QR codes on their receipts, while customers serving B2B clients can add a QR code to their invoice they send, asking for a review. To get a QR code setup for your Google My Business account: • Grab your Google My Business review link using the GatherUp Chrome extension. • Head over to the QR Code Generator and drop in the link • Download the QR code, and add it where relevant to your print advertising process Collect Reviews On-Site via Mobile Devices Another great use case for those that have an in-store experience – collecting Google reviews via a mobile device. If you’re dining in a restaurant and the waiter asks you to leave a review, while presenting a Sometimes customers will naturally come to your Google My Business profile and drop you a review – especially if they had a negative experience. But you’re missing out on a ton of opportunity if you’re not asking your customers for a review of your product or service. Six easy ways to get more Google reviews for your business

tablet or mobile device, you’re much more likely to complete one right there on the spot. There are plenty of SaaS solutions out there on the market to help you achieve this. Normally, you’ll first leave a review using the third party’s review software on the tablet device, as with Google Reviews you’d need to actually log in to your account first before leaving the review – which most people won’t be too keen on doing for security and privacy concerns. But during the review process, the survey will ask for an email where you’ll later receive an email asking you to leave a review on Yelp, GMB, etc. Collecting reviews in-store and in-person can be a supereffective method to bolstering your Google reviews. Encourage Reviews by Always Responding When potential customers are browsing your Google My Business profile, it will certainly stand out if you’re responding to the reviews that customers have left. You should always respond to all reviews and engage with your customers’ reviews, whether it’s a positive or a negative review. By responding to reviews, you’re actually encouraging other customers to leave reviews as they see that you’re engaging with your customers and their feedback. This is especially true for negative reviews. Customers want to see that you’re taking recourse to resolve issues that have arisen with your product or service.
