Business Awards 2023

Jan22686 APAC Insider- Business Awards 2023 Championing flexible working is Connect Staffing Group, based in Western Australia. This approach is a strategic imperative to building a resilient and agile organisation in the healthcare staffing space. In the wake of the firm winning a place in the APAC Global Business Awards 2023, we speak to Paul Morrison about advancing the future of flexible working to provide a spectrum of opportunities to redefine traditional healthcare staffing solutions. Flexible working is the umbrella term used to describe any role that breaks the norm of a rigid 9-5, five-day week structure. At its core, individuals have potentially greater freedom over when, where, or how to fulfill their particular roles. With the rise of flexible working, more people are seeking out jobs that offer a better work-life balance and that have flexible work options, such as remote work, a flexible job, or part time hours, as these simple and small changes to the norm can ultimately make a huge difference in the lives of so many people. Just some of the many benefits that come with flexible working include improved mental wellbeing, improved physical health, and increased productivity, all of which can provide numerous advantages to both employers and employees. With talented professionals in the healthcare, aged care, and hospitality industries in high demand, providing them with high-quality, flexible employment possibilities only allows and empowers them to provide their finest services. Connect Staffing Group is an industry frontrunner with more than 15 years’ worth of experience in staffing Western Australia’s (WA) largest organisations across the healthcare, aged care, and hospitality sectors. The flexible staffing solutions provider recruits registered and enrolled nurses, nursing assistants, and caregivers for clients across Perth’s metropolitan and regional facilities. Alliances and partnerships remain the bedrock of its success and the driving force behind the company’s continuing growth. Oct23238 Connect Staffing was born from the merger of Connect Health Services (established in 2004) and Elite Hospitality Personnel (established in 2015). With more than 15 years’ worth of experience staffing WA’s largest hospitality, healthcare and aged care organisations, Connect Staffing retains a highperforming workforce because it does not simply fill positions, instead it helps people find fulfilment at work. “People want to be able to pick and choose when they can work, how they want to work, and where they want to work because they could have families,” elaborates Paul Morrison, the Founder and Director of Connect Staffing. “But they still want the continuity of having work, where if you’re working in a full-time job or fulltime role in a hospital, you’re on a fixed roster and have fixed hours. Sometimes people do get tired, and with the flexibility of working for Connect, it prevents nurses from getting burnt out.” Originally from Ireland, Paul has a background in hospitality, having worked as a chef. After moving to Australia in 2011, he set up Lee Hospitality, a hospitality agency, in 2015. Paul bought out Connect Health Services in November 2018 and Hilary his then business partner in November 2021. After rebranding in 2022 as Connect Staffing Group, the company was twice ranked in the prestigious Australian Financial Review. First in 49th place of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Australia in 2021, and then again in 2022, and as number 200 out of 500 of the Fastest Growing Businesses across the Asian Pacific, the Financial Times APAC. As the only agency in Australia that is ISO certified in HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) the firm’s values are clear. They centre around being ambitious, forward-thinking, and open to change with a drive for growth and progression that is an attitude, not an endgame. The company is also keen to be seen as a positive and proactive partner, building relationships for the future, not just the present, and being there for its clients’ challenges and successes, wins and losses, and to approach every interaction with compassion, respect and candor. “We are always careful to follow through and do what it says it will because we are only as good as our word,” further elaborates Paul Morrison, “We are tenacious, persisting through adversity, learning quickly and always following through.” Recently, for its tenacity and commitment to flexible working, Connect Staffing received not one, but two, prestigious accolades including being named Nursing Agency of the Year 2023 – Australia as well as winning the much-coveted APAC Insider Healthcare Staffing Employee Care Excellence Award 2023. When asked about Connect Staffing Group’s plans for the future, Paul has big plans. “Over the next few years, our strategy within the company is to increase our footprint across the healthcare sector for the provision of nurses,” he enthuses. “So in the next three years, we aim to become one of the largest providers of nurses across all of Western Australia.” Contact: Paul Morrison Company: Connect Staffing Group Web Address: www.connectstaffing.com.au Nursing Agency of the Year 2023 – Australia & APAC Insider Healthcare Staffing Employee Care Excellence Award 2023 Connect Staffing Group
