‘Silk Road Rugs And Tours’ opened in May 2016 as a consequence of an unforgettable journey along the Silk Road covering India, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Upon our return to Australia, one of the Turks asked us to look for a shop in Melbourne, as military action in their country had caused economic hardship and he had no option but to close his shop. Fortuitously, a shop became available. It is now filled with exclusive handmade rugs, exquisite ceramics, colourful mosaic lamps, and many beautiful artefacts from a range of countries along the famous Silk Road.
