Eve begins by talking us through the firm and the range of services it provides for its myriad of clients. “Here at the Dust Palace, we support a wide range of clients and work alongside them to ensure they receive the service they need. For events we provide performance of any scale, workshops and team building events, we have a performance venue for seated dinners up to 80 people, and exclusive hosting opportunities. For the fitness industry our Penrose based school provides the highest quality circus training and recreational classes as well as teacher training, team building, functional strength body-work learning, and professional higher education opportunities. “In addition, we create and perform the most highly acclaimed circus theatre work derived from Aotearoa. We have been invited to present work in Canada and Australia, countries both internationally reputed for circus creation. We are collaborators of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and have partnered with most of the NZ arts festivals. Our most recent work was an original work presented to a sold out Wanawatu arena in Palmerston North.” From the moment they founded the Dust Palace, Eve has had ambitions to use the firm to showcase the talent on offer in New Zealand’s circus performance industry. She explains how she has worked to achieve this with the help of her dedicated team of performers. “Since the beginning, our primary mission is to set up the infrastructure and kudos for circus of New Zealand which will allow Aotearoa’s voice to change the world. We firmly believe that New Zealand has amazing things to offer the world and we want to develop the skills and space for our artists to do that. We are unique as a nation and we have the skills to push the boundaries of circus as an art-form. We want to lead the charge and prove the sustainability within the arts is possible. “To ensure that we achieve this mission and differentiate ourselves from other performers and companies, at the Dust Palace we have always positioned ourselves at the very top of circus within Aotearoa. Only the perfect performance goes on stage, only the most incredible performers, only the slickest acts.
