APAC 2017 New Zealand Business Awards

, Mayo Group is based in Browns Bay on the North Shore of Auckland since 1991, and have been the New Zealand distributor of Vogel’s mounting systems since 1996. The business has been built around the Vogel’s range but other brands and products have been added. It is a small company with great emphasis on personal relationships with all their customers, with an approach which is very much focused around providing a solution rather than just selling products, as Jim emphasises. “Here at Mayo Group, we have customers throughout New Zealand and we attempt to visit them all at least once a year. Not only does this give us the opportunity to ensure they are up to date with new product developments it keeps us informed of their requirements and challenges they face. While the largest part of our customer base are installers, ranging from one man operators to larger companies with offices in most cities in New Zealand. We offer a solution based response - “tell us what you are trying to do” and then propose the most suitable components to ensure ease of installation and shortest time to install. Sometimes it is as simple as “I have X screen – what bracket fits it?” to very complex solutions. We also have a considerable retailer customer HKB17007 Recognised Leader in Visual Mounting System Distribution 2017 - New Zealand Mayo Group Ltd is a leading importer and distributor of high quality audio visual mounting systems and radio receivers. We invited JimMayo to tell us more about the firmand the services it offers. base. In all instances, it is a case of working beside our customers to ensure the best result. I guess that reflects in this award. “To ensure excellence for these clients we work hard to ensure that our staff are knowledgeable and enjoy their roles. Our longest serving staff member has been with us for 17 years and all of us have the attitude we must enjoy coming to work and enjoy being able to provide the best solution for all our customers. Product knowledge and an understanding of how any product will perform in any given circumstance has always been a priority. In other words the best advice based upon sound practice. The best products with the best advice ensure a satisfied customer who will keep doing business with us.” Operating in New Zealand offers the firm many great opportunities, which Jim is eager to highlight. “New Zealand is undoubtedly behind Europe with the usage of Digital Signage but in the last twelve months we have seen rapid growth in multi-screen installations for both information dissemination and advertising applications. As NZ is often referred to as “The Shaky Isles” we do have a number of earthquakes and we have seen much greater demand for product certification – in other words will it perform as claimed? Fortunately, all of Vogel’s Pro AV range is certified plus tested to carry 5 times the safe load capacity so this requirement is not an issue for us. Plus, with greater emphasis on workplace safety we are perfectly positioned to meet these requirements. It has caused us to have a greater understanding of the engineering and mechanics required plus a working knowledge of construction methods.” As he discusses the future Jim is excited about the developments in the industry which will provide Mayo Group with many great opportunities for growth. “Looking ahead, in the next two to three years we see continued growth on the digital signage area plus the use of very large single screen installations. The other growth area will be video conferencing. While it is being used extensively in New Zealand, new technology will see a further increase. Many current installations are mediocre and when companies realise the potential that new technology brings many will be planning to upgrade. A similar scenario exists with digital signage, especially in the retail sector as companies realise the potential impact a quality display will bring to a store. As such, we are fortunate the Vogel’s a so proactive with new designs and rapid responses to emerging trends plus with New Zealand being a little behind trends in Europe the timing with new products is great for us. Free standing and mobile multi-screen arrays will also have their place and we are keen to work with these industry developments to ensure that we offer our clients the very highest standard of support and service.” Contact: Jim Mayo Contact Email: [email protected] Address: 5/58 Anzac Road, Browns Bay 0630, P.
