Manufacturers play a huge role in the Australian economy and is a significant industry across the country. Resources technology, mineral process, food & beverages, medical products, recycling, clean energy, and defence form some of the key areas which cover the manufacturing priorities throughout the nation. APAC Insider’s annual awards were launched to highlight the amazing work done by those firms and individuals whose ceaseless dedication to innovation, customer care, and the continued growth and improvement of their businesses has seen them forge ahead of their competitors and raise the bar for performance and results in their industry. Manufacturing contributes about six per cent of Australia’s GDP and supports 860,000+ jobs. Whilst Australian manufacturing has declined over the last decade, this is a common trend in advanced economies. However, this played a crucial role in supporting the health response to the pandemic (COVID-19) by delivering personal protective equipment and essential medical equipment throughout the country. The government’s long term strategy aims to support productivity growth, leading to more competitive businesses and higher wages.
