The Maraboon facility features a service hospital with a vet on call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, to help with all small animal needs. With inspiring leaders and a fantastic team who are dedicated, motivated and happy, the rest falls into place.” Over the last year there has been a dramatic change in the veterinary industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Whilst pets have always been an important part of people’s lives, global lockdowns saw people developing stronger connections with their pets, something which mutually impacts on their health and wellness. Feb21099 Maraboon Veterinary Surgery Company: Maraboon Veterinary Surgery Contact: Kasey Pyle Website: www.maraboonvet.com.au more time at home (and working from home), people are around their pets more often and relying on them for comfort during stressful situations. “We are finding that our clients are taking care of their pets even better than before, noticing any sickness or illness sooner and are willing to go the extra mile to get them healthy again,” says Kasey. “So even during Covid, our business has continued to operate successfully and has experienced growth in some areas.” During Covid, Maraboon had to adapt quickly and did this as efficiently as possible. The practice expanded its services to both clients and pets so people could access it more readily and through different methods, including a contactless service, valet drop off services and tele-health consultations. During this time especially, the Maraboon management team could not sing the praises of its staff more highly. “For second of every crazy day, they have worked hard and gone above and beyond - we cannot thank them enough.” Having such a close-knit and dedicated staff base is partly down to the open and relaxed culture at Maraboon. Kasey explains that, as well as encouraging honesty and frequent communication, the business offers ongoing support for all of its team members. “Our staff want to come to work, they are our family and therefore are treated as such. Though our clients are important, our staff know that they have our support and they come first. Because without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.” When recruiting, Maraboon looks for a great personality above everything else and new recruits tend to be pro-active, hard-working, and passionate about the animal industry and the care it can provide. Regarding the future, Kasey tells us that the practice is forever on the lookout for new talent and is also constantly open to new opportunities as well, in order to advance its services and levels of care offered. Recently, Maraboon has moved location to incorporate a bigger practice. And they have also built a separate Pet Resort offering doggy day care, pet accommodation and grooming services. “Going forward, we are expanding our current veterinary surgery services, offering more specialised surgery options and advanced breeding/reproduction services.
